An evening where Istanbul dances: Black Sea horon, zeybek from the Aegean, belly dance and drums, performed in a 15th-century Ottoman hamam. I reserve the best seats, explain the origin and meaning of the dances beforehand and, on request, accompany you by vehicle from your hotel and back. I quote the price personally – depending on season, seats and transfer.

Highlights

  • Hodjapasha: a hamam of 1470 as a stage beneath the dome
  • Dances from the Black Sea, Aegean, Thrace and south-east Anatolia
  • Oriental dance and live music
  • Best seats reserved, no queuing
  • Cultural background from your guide before the show
  • Transfer with driver from hotel or Galataport optional

Full description

The Hocapaşa hamam in Sirkeci was built around 1470, a few years after the conquest of Constantinople. Today it is a cultural centre, and beneath its dome runs one of the best folklore productions in the city: about 70 minutes of dance, rhythm and music, without words – and therefore understandable for everyone.

We meet before the performance; over a tea I tell you where the dances come from and what they tell. On request we start the evening with dinner in Sirkeci or combine the show with the panoramic night drive through Istanbul. I quote price and programme after your request – you then receive the booking link.
