Green Canyon – boat trip on the Oymapınar reservoir

The Oymapınar reservoir lies turquoise-green between sheer rock walls. We take a boat through the Green Canyon, stop for a swim in a quiet bay and return via the Manavgat waterfall.

Full description

The Green Canyon was created when the Manavgat river was dammed. The water stays cold all year and has a green that looks unreal in photographs. From the jetty at the dam we head into the gorge, past rock faces with goats standing on them and caves at the waterline.

Along the way we moor in a bay – jump in if you like; at 18 degrees it is refreshing even in August. We finish at the Manavgat waterfall, where tea is served in a garden built out over the water.

Meeting point

We pick you up with vehicle and driver at Antalya cruise port (Port Akdeniz) or at your hotel and bring you back there.

• Comfortable shoes and sun protection – Ancient sites and old-town lanes have uneven paving and little shade; please bring water in summer.
