Why does Hagia Sophia stand exactly there? Where do the domes face, how are walls, mosques and towers aligned with each other, and which legends do the people of Istanbul tell about their hills? This tour follows the lines of the city for a whole day – from the first sun on the Asian side to the last light on the Galata Tower. Vehicle with driver, tolls and parking are included.

Full description

Geomancy is the old art of reading places: how buildings relate to landscape, cardinal directions and each other. Constantinople was founded on seven hills; its churches, mosques and walls follow axes still visible today. We look at them through the eyes of the builders, the pilgrims and the people of Istanbul who have passed on their stories for centuries.

The day begins before sunrise on Çamlıca Hill, crosses the Bosphorus by ferry into the old town and ends on the Galata Tower as the sun sinks behind the domes. Ten hours, many breaks, a private vehicle for the long distances. The early start and the late hours are already included in the price.
