In the footsteps of the Apostle Paul 01/ 8-day trip:.

"I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia" (Acts 22;3) - right on the Mediterranean in what is now southern Turkey. For the Apostle Paul, today's Turkey was the starting point of his journeys and therefore also the beginning of our journey, setting out from his birthplace and the city where he first preached in Turkey ( Acts 13;13;14).

Day 1: Flight from your home airport - Antalya. Hoş geldiniz!

Welcome at the airport by your qualified, knowledgeable and local tour guide from "PASSION" Reisen /Turkey.
Transfer to the hotel in the Antalya area.
Over a welcome cocktail your tour guide gives you an overview of the details of the itinerary.

Day 2: Anamurium fortress:. Anamurium - Cennet-Cehennem-Corycian caves (Heaven-Hell) - cave church of St. Thecla

Our route takes us eastwards along the most picturesque coastal roads of the Mediterranean. Here we visit the fortress of Anamurium, one of the many sea castles and fortresses that follow.

We continue to Silifke to the Corycian caves.
In the Cennet cave (Heaven cave), at a depth of 75 metres, lies the three-aisled basilica from the 5th century.
Before we drive to the hotel we visit the cave church of St. Thecla.

Day 3: St. Paul's Well in Tarsus:. Tarsus - Issus - Antioch on the Orontes - Grotto of St. Peter - second-largest mosaic museum in the world

On our journey to Antioch on the Orontes we will visit the city of the Apostle Paul - Tarsus. His birthplace and the well, still intact today, are witnesses of his time to this day. Another highlight of the city is Cleopatra's Gate.

We continue south and past Issus (3-3-3 brawl at Issus).
Once in Antioch on the Orontes we visit the second-largest mosaic museum in the world. Here we witness how stones come to life!
The crowning conclusion of the day is our visit to the Grotto of St. Peter, where the Christians first called themselves Christians.

Day 4: Seleucia Pieria - Taurus Mountains - Cilician Gates - Cappadocia

In the morning we drive for a short detour to Seleucia Pieria.

From the harbour, which can still be seen, the Apostle Paul began his first missionary journey.
Our route continues through the Cilician Gates (Gülek Boğazı) and across the Taurus Mountains to Cappadocia.

Here in Cappadocia various restaurants and venues offer us the experience of a Turkish folklore evening (a performance of the culture and traditional dances of the different Turkish regions). The ceremonies of the whirling dervishes performed locally offer a particularly deep insight into the spiritual roots of the country.
These excursions are optional, can be booked locally and offer an insight into Turkey's cultural heritage.

Day 5: Cappadocia - Göreme Valley and cave churches - Sultanhanı Caravanserai

A balloon flight over Cappadocia and its unique bizarre landscape is particularly recommended. We rise with the sunrise to approx. 50-200 metres above the beautiful natural formations. The balloon flight lasts at least 45 minutes. It is also unique that in Cappadocia the pilots can dip very low into the valleys. We are picked up from the hotel early in the morning and driven back again.
This balloon flight can be booked locally. Approx. €150 per person.

Today we are on a full-day excursion through Cappadocia, this lunar landscape created by the volcanic mountains Erciyes and Hasan Dağ. Throughout the excursion we are accompanied by the fairy chimneys, as also in the Göreme Valley with its beautiful cave churches (Girls' Church, Elmalı Church, St. Barbara Church, Snake Church, Çarıklı Church and Tokalı Church) and monasteries. During the photo stops you will have the opportunity to take beautiful pictures.

On the way to Konya, ancient Iconium (Acts 13:51; 14:1-21;16:2; 2 Tim 3:11), you visit the largest caravanserai in Turkey - the Sultanhanı Caravanserai.
The subsequent visit to the underground city of Serhatli is one of the highlights of the trip.

Day 6: Mevlana Monastery - Antioch in Pisidia, Lake Burdur, Lake Eğirdir - Isparta - Antalya

In Konya itself we visit the Mevlana Monastery/ Museum and the Church of St. Paul.

We then drive to Yalvaç - Antioch in Pisidia (Acts 13:14; 14:19-21, 2 Tim 3:11), where very extensive excavations have been carried out recently.
It was also here that the Apostle Paul gave his first recorded sermon on his first missionary journey in Anatolia. After visiting and touring the excavation site, the journey continues southwards through the Taurus Mountains. The route takes us past lakes and towns (Lake Burdur, Lake Eğirdir, Limnai... the rose town of Isparta) to Antalya.

Day 7: Aspendos - Perge - Antalya

Setting out from Antalya, the Apostle Paul's first place of preaching in Asia Minor, our excursion begins with the famous cities of Pamphylia.
The theatre of Aspendos with its 20,000 seats is one of the best-preserved Roman buildings of antiquity in Asia Minor.

In Perge (Acts 13,13-14, Acts 14,25) we also visit the theatre, the stadium and the colonnaded street.

Then return journey to Antalya. Finally, we drive together to the ancient harbour of Antalya and can enjoy the "ÇAY" (chai) with "KEYIF" (keyif)!

Day 8: Today it is time to say goodbye... Güle güle!
